About this series:
Each shoot often starts without a clear idea of what I'm trying to capture, but it - that thing, like an energy - creeps up to the surface as we go. In this case there was a progression taking place. This series is about moving away from expectations placed on the Boy, and becoming comfortable in the skin of the young Man.
The first chapter depicts the Boy, hooded and concealed behind sheer gauze. The second has the Boy attempting to exit his shell, playing with poses and trying confidence on. The third shows him losing the clothes and cocooned by a green shawl, as the Boy metamorphoses to the young Man, eventually revealing his face. The final chapter sees the young Man growing comfortable with exposed face, skin and the previously hidden gold pendant. For a little mystery, I'll let you pick up on the remaining details for yourself.
